Proposition 8 Fundraiser a Huge Success
They came pumped and ready to give. They knew what was at stake and they wanted to be part of history.
And by the end of the 15 minutes allotted to fundraising Saturday night in the packed International Ballroom at the Beverly Hilton Hotel,Equality California raised over $1.6 million dollars to fightProp 8, the antigay marriage constitutional amenment on the November ballot in California.
The entire evening was one of button-popping celebration - not only for the legal right to marry but for the full sense of equality the May 15California Supreme Court Marriage ruling conferred.
