Another McCain Gay Staff Member

According to new report published by the Washington Blade, Trevor Potter, general counsel to Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, is openly gay. His role as the top lawyer to the McCain camp combined with his experience as a former chair of the U.S. Federal Election Commission, long track record in Washington political circles and solid reputation among both Democrats and Republicans, has led many major news outlets to classify Potter as one of the nation’s most highly regarded experts on U.S. election laws.
Of note about Potter is his longstanding relationship with John McCain, who is said to be aware that he is gay, and the level of respect her garners from both sides of the aisle.
In the article, Richard Grenell, a gay Republican activist and former spokesperson for the Office of the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, said he’s known Potter since the two worked on McCain’s 2000 presidential campaign.
“McCain hired him because he is great at his job,” Grenell said. “He also happens to be gay. He is himself.”
